With that having been said...

I have loved satire almost as early as I can remember -- I wore out my parents' Allen Sherman records listening to such greats as "Hungarian Goulash #5," "Hello, Muddah, Hello Fuddah," and knew all the words to "On Top of Spaghetti" after two listens.

As a teen, I discovered I favored the dry sarcasm of David Letterman and "Saturday Night Live" to Johnny Carson and "Are You Being Served?" Similarly, give me _Spaceballs_ and _Airplane_ over _Dumb & Dumber_ and "The Three Stooges" any day.

Allen Sherman doesn't do much for me anymore, but I now get my spoof fix on sites like The Onion, SlashNOT, Landover Baptist, and The Sciencist.
